the most memorable eco-travel experiences

We're forever grateful for all you did for us over the last year. We surely will tell all our travelling friends about your agency. I sent Steven, Bob, Duncan, Carol, and Luke a few pics and follow-up. We got 365 spp of which more than 300 were new lifers! You put together a trip surpassing any of the "big-name" bird tour companies. Best Wishes.

Graeme, we had a great time. The birding was excellent, and we saw 275 species in Australia; fewer in New Zealand, of course, but we managed 46, counting native species only. Carol was our favorite guide. I'd say our favorite place to stay was Canopy Treehouses. All the guides found the birds for us, and they took us to a lot of prime spots. In addition to the Treehouses, we loved Cassowary House, Kingfisher Park, Red Mill House, and of course O'Reilly's. The whole Australian trip was organized just right.

Thanks very much for your arrangements and attention on our Naturetrek holiday. It all went extremely well and we had a great time. Carol’s exceptional knowledge and amazing energy worked its spell, and Duncan showed us beautiful birds too.

Hi Graeme

We're back now and have almost regained our normal sleep patterns, This is a message to say thanks once more for arranging the details of an excellent itinerary with lots of birds, mammals, reptiles and landscapes. Hopefully we'll be seeing MaryAnne next week to tell her all about the trip

Dave & Joan (UK)

Just a note to thank you again for your help on our recent trip to Australia.

Barbara & Robert (USA)

We had a great time. Thanks for putting together a most beautiful trip. Thanks Pat (USA)

Graeme hi

We did indeed have a superb trip to Kakadu with Mike. Mike is without doubt a great birder and knows where to go to find the Top End endemics. He is also knowledgeable about the indigenous people and their rock art which for Helen was great as she is not a great birder but an art enthusiast.

In terms of the itinerary it was pretty full and two early morning starts was quite tiring. In summer I feel it might just be too much. An extra day would have been better but that was our call so we cannot complain. The accommodation at Cooinda was fine and the food very good. We would not hesitate in recommending Mike to any birder wishing to go birding in the Northern Territory.

Thanks again for arranging the trip.

Now that I'm back home I wanted to write and thank you for an absolutely wonderful trip. Everything went off without a hitch and my mom and I were very happy with how all the arrangements came together. We didn't have any problems meeting up with our tour guides or drivers and everyone was friendly and helpful. Some of my favorite highlights (and of course it is difficult to pick out any because the entire trip was a highlight) were the hot air balloon ride in Cairns, seeing the great barrier reef in person, the penguin parade on Phillips Island, and watching the sun set behind Uluru. The entire trip was magical and I cannot thank you enough for putting it all together at such short notice. I will enthusiastically recommend Australia-Naturally Travel to all my friends and family planning a vacation down under!

Hi Graeme,

We most certainly enjoyed the meticulously arranged Australian tour. I cannot think of a bad experience in fact they all exceeded expectations including the food where included. It was nice to have some meals on our own. Many thanks for an outstanding Aussie experience, Graeme!

Hi Graeme -

Bill and I want to thank you, so much, for planning our Australian trip!!. We met wonderful people, saw spectacular scenery, discovered beautiful birds and interesting wildlife . . . We loved it!! And thank you again for remembering my birthday and for following our progress to assure that everything went smoothly. We were very satisfied!!

So, in summary, it was great!! We have unforgettable memories of new friends, beautiful places, and spectacular birds and other wildlife. We will enthusiastically recommend Australia Naturally whenever we meet someone who is contemplating a trip down under!! You planned a wonderful trip for us, Graeme, and we thank you!!!!!

Overall the trip you set up and the guides you located were great. We would not have had as good a time without them taking us to interesting places, many of which we would not have otherwise seen.

Some highlights for us were -- the Boat and 4 wheel drive tour at the Mareeba wetlands, the trip to the Fogg Dam, the boat trip on the Yellow river in Kakadu, the Desert Museum in Alice Springs, Uluru and the Olgas, seeing a cassowary wandering through an orchard, the walks or visits to out of the way places that had unexpected highlights like a walk in the Blue Mountains and coming across a mob of kangaroos or seeing a bower bird courting a mate under a tree in a schoolyard.......

Now that we're back in the UK again I'd just like to say a big big thank you for the arrangements that you made for us everything went very smoothly and we even managed to get an upgrade on the Adelaide to Perth leg on the train at a very favourable rate. The holiday more than fulfilled our expectations and we both want to go back again one day, once again many thanks.

Thank your for planning such a grand experience for us. We enjoyed the in-depth look into Australian life, history and natural wonder. You took the time to understand what we wanted and them arranged all the details. The guides were terrific. As was your attention as you checked in with the guides and innkeepers all along the way to be sure we were doing just fine. I've already recommended you to my friends.

Barbara Lawrence, USA

Thank you for the report, we are as well very impressed about the way that you are giving reports to us = keeping us updated. And you may be sure that we will continue with you in the future - this is just a start. About our finnish nature clientele, they are absolutely cream on the cake.

When they do something it's like "going to the church". Nature is very important to us and to our clients and our mutual co-operation with the clients is seamless work. Tuomas is great indeed. We try to give them always the best we can do and now we are very happy that we found you. Australia is on our minds.

It was a wonderful trip. It was your help and suggestions that made this trip so awesome. I really appreciate your suggestions, efforts and involvement with planning. Ellen is a gem. I too will recommend AWT if anyone is looking for a trip to Oz with a wildlife tendency.

I would just like to say that all of your arrangements were great. The hotel refund was a pleasant surprise and I appreciate you doing that. The birding/naturalist/local history expertise of Ellen's went far and beyond what I ever expected.

I will say that if any of my acquaintances wish to travel to Australia, I will definitely recommend your company.

Thanks for all of your assistance and taking good care of this group.

We are back to a wet and cold England after a superb and sunny trip.

It is difficult to find sufficient superlatives to describe the trip! - it was brilliant in all respects and a huge thank you is owed to all of you who helped to make it so special.

Many thanks MaryAnne and Graeme for the vast amount of work that went into crafting this trip and putting together such an excellent itinerary.

Huge thanks are also due to our guides:- Roger and Janine in Croajingolong; Barry along the Great Ocean Road, through the Grampians and into the Little Desert National Park and its surrounds; Peter W in the Little Desert National Park, areas around Waikerie, Gluepot Reserve and across to Adelaide. Also to Hal Epstein and his guides (especially 'Steve') during our Pelagic trip and the excellent Ranger on Philip Island who accompanied and informed our time watching the Little Penguins come ashore (and short tailed shearwaters return to their burrows). We very much appreciate the expertise of our guides and the huge amount of preparation done in advance of our trip plus their warmth, friendliness and enthusiasm.

Each of the areas we visited was special and we were only too aware of the short time we had in each spot (we could gladly have spent weeks in each location if work and funds had permitted!).

Graeme and Earl, just a note to let you know what a delightful time we all had on the Hunter Valley tour on Nov. 6th.

Sue May, USA

Aloha Graeme...

Just wanted to send a note to thank you for helping to make our trip incredibly memorable. Everyone had such a wonderful time and absolutely loved Sydney. All the tours we took were exciting and the sights were beautiful. The only thing I would suggest as I mentioned over the phone is to extend lunch at the Carrington Hotel from one hour to two hours longer... the little town of Katoomba was so charming that our members had wished they had another hour there, as they really loved it! One of them spent $500 on a leather hat there! Mahalo nui and hope to come back again with another group.

We all enjoyed our holiday in Australia very much. Everything went according to the plans and schedule. Of course, we missed several interesting species (e.g. the cassowary) but saw many others which we did not expect to see (e.g. the noisy pitta). In total I saw 270 bird species (I heard several others but I did not count them). Our guides Carol and Ellen were wonderful persons and worked hard to show us wildlife. The ladies bought cloths, bags, etc. as souvenir (I bought some Australian wildlife field guides). We all send you our warmest regards and thank you very much for arranging us a memorable holiday!

Antero Jarvinen, FINLAND

Dear Maryanne (Naturetrek)

Thanks for your email. I just wanted to emphasise what a wonderful experience I had in Australia. I was quite taken aback by the friendliness and helpfulness of so many of the people I met. The ranger at Mareeba Wetlands who went well out of his way to find Apostlebird for me , the boatman/ guide Glen on the Daintree who searched long for Great-billed Heron and would accept no payment, and more......

So many thanks for arranging such a good itinerary !
